How to prepare your vehicle for auto transport?

Even though your vehicle will be making the journey on a well-equipped car carrier, there are things you can do to make the journey safer and easier for all involved.

Tip #1) Wash your car before shipping. This will make it easier to do a pre-inspection report of your vehicle with the driver before it’s loaded onto the truck. Note: your car is being transported over the road, so it will get a little dirty on the trip (depending on how far it goes).

Tip#2) Check your tire pressure. To ensure safe loading and unloading, inflate your tires to their recommended tire pressure level.

Tip #3) Check the charge of your battery. Make sure your vehicle has a fully charged battery. This will avoid any difficulties during the loading and unloading of your car.

Tip #4) Check the fluids in your car (Oil, Brake, Engine Coolant, Power Steering, Washer) - you want to make sure your car can run before it is transported.

Tip #5) Deactivate or remove toll tags. If you leave your toll tag on your vehicle, it may collect the fees of every toll that your car passes through.

Tip #6) Don’t fill up your tank. Leave your gas tank between ¼ to ½ full. Gas can add a significant amount of weight to your vehicle. The lesser the weight on a carrier, the better the fuel economy for the driver.

Tip #7) (and most importantly). Never hesitate to call us if you have any questions or concerns!
